Community Engagement

Our mission is to build an energy landscape that is less expensive, more reliable, and increasingly sustainable—one that benefits our employees, customers, communities, and planet.

What Community Engagement Means to Us

Community engagement is the process of proactively coordinating, communicating, explaining, and seeking input from local stakeholders, neighbors, customers, and the general public to improve understanding, increase community benefits, and provide opportunities.

Our Approach to Community Engagement

1

Corporate Values and ESG

A commitment to internal and external stakeholders across “environment, social, governance” practices.
2

Corporate Donations and Volunteering

Support for company VTO policy and corporate giving
3

Educational Programming

Share knowledge and expertise in the clean energy transition, the energy storage sector, and STEM
4

Locally Driven Engagement

Seek input from communities on system permitting and design, and general feedback

Successful community engagement is an ongoing effort with participation required across the entire company as a shared responsibility. Convergent’s approach to community engagement includes four core focus areas aligned with Convergent’s core values and industry best practices:

Our Commitment to Safety and Wellbeing

Above all, Convergent is dedicated to ensuring the safety of our systems and the wellbeing of our customers, community partners, employees, and vendors.

Safety is a value our entire team holds as a priority—and our safety team is part of the process from the initial conversations with a potential customer, through the ongoing operations of our systems.

As a leading provider of energy storage solutions in North America, we’re constantly collecting data from the over 800 MW / 1 GWh we have on the grid or under development in order to evaluate our practices and procedures. In addition, we are also working with industry-leading consultants to support our efforts in evaluating our suppliers’ safety practices, system compliance, and hazard mitigation.

Spotlight: Commitment to ESG

As businesses make increasing claims about ESG, corporate social responsibility, or sustainability more broadly, Convergent is prepared to be transparent about its strengths and opportunities for growth. In other words, Convergent will walk the walk rather than just talk the talk. The company looks forward to working closely with its partners to make a positive impact in communities where it operates and to consider the effect of the business on all constituents and the planet at large.

Convergent’s Annual Sustainability and Impact Report

In our second annual Sustainability and Impact Report, we share how we integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance into our overall success metrics.

As we like to say, “energy storage is the linchpin of the clean energy transition,” and we could not be more excited or motivated to be part of the solution to the greatest global challenge of our time: climate change.
